In case Victoria is really as secretive as she claims, I just wanted to remind you: 'tis the season! Victoria's Secret's Semi-Annual Summer Sale is alive and well until Friday.
I was super jacked about it because it was perfect timing for me. Over the course of a two-week stint, I lost my three favorite bras. Not even sure how I managed to do that. It was either all of the wedding traveling lately or else my suitcase is, in fact, a bra-craving black hole.
Although I have accumulated quite the braz-illiant collection over the years, those three were really the only ones I ever wore; kept 'em on a pretty tight little rotation schedule, and I didn't care at all that they were all at least two years old and tearing at the seams. They were my Monica bras ("you'll know it's mine because it has a hole in the strap," and "you'll recognize that they're my jeans when you see an ink stain on the crotch").
But alas, I think it was the universe being like, "'bout time you sprang for a new bra. Your cleavage has gotten just about as much mileage out of this appendage as it can manage." And I'm really glad I did because I found a few diamonds in the rough in the makeup section as well.
I have to say, I've never really cared a whole lot for Victoria's Secret makeup because I think the quality of their makeup is really not all that great most of the time because they know they can just ride on their brand name and the fact that they've got these smokin' hot little angel faces in their corner.
So even though I'm not the biggest fan of their line of makeup, I love trying out different products, and if they're 40% off, all the better. Plus, there are certain products that you can't really go too wrong on. For instance, black eyeliner is black eyeliner. Blush is blush. Unless you totally effed up the formula to the point where I start bleeding from the ears, you can't really screw it up too badly (except when eyeliner is so hard you have to melt it with a blow dryer just to get any product out—I do hate that).
Here's what I snatched from the Semi-Annual this year. I really like the lipstick (I got it in Submission, which isn't what's pictured below, but they didn't have a swatch of it online), and I'm loving the Luminous Mineral Blush Duo! I'm pretty proud of that purchase actually because it's pretty rad, and it was only $10!
Good night, angels!
