So remember awhile ago when I said I draw inspiration for makeup looks from everywhere? This one can be chalked up to my nephew, oddly enough. I've been hanging out with Hayden all week, and we Redboxed Frozen the other day, and then we bought it the next day . . . and we've now watched it 5 or 6 times . . . not at all against my will . . . and I'm not even a little bit ashamed.
I think if this movie came out when I was younger, I would've had a Spice Girls-level obsession with it. A-freaking-dorable. So now I'm intrigued by and obsessed with vampy, dark lips a la Queen Elsa. I know they're more of a fall makeup trend, but please humor me. I couldn't resist.
I accidentally left my bag of brushes at home, and on top of that, I only packed my makeup essentials for the trip so I was at a pretty strong disadvantage when it came to having the right equipment, so tread lightly, please. I did what I could. Luckily, my sister had a great dark lipstick that I used as a base and paired with one of my MAC colors.
If I had my full spectrum of tools, I'd have done false lashes, more highlighter, more dramatic brows, and the exact same blue sparkly, enchanted, snowflake-y dress she wears in the movie so I could wear it every single day for the rest of my life, naturally.
Regardless, I hope you like it. :) And if you think it's a fail, Let It Go, Let It Go!

I always love when girls can work it with a dark lip, but I never think I can pull it off. But then it makes me think of all of the many, many girls I've heard say "I love when other people wear red / bold / light pink / nude lipstick, but I can't pull it off." Most of the time, they TOTALLY can; it's just a matter of finding the right shade for your skin tone and facial coloring and working with the rest of your makeup to create a cohesive look. So I'm going to keep working on this because, although the oxblood isn't in season for another few months, Elsa and her crimson kisser gave me the motivation to have it mastered by the time the leaves change.
Kisses! And happy Friday the 13th, my fine, fabulous friends.
