It's October Eve, and I decided to get a little festive and do a quick post on costume makeup!
Alice in Wonderland, to be exact.
Slightly cliche, perhaps, but it's a very whimsical story, and I love it, so I thought it would be a fun makeup challenge.
I didn't go crazy (and I had nothing for the costume except a blue + white dress with a black headband; try to suspend your disbelief here, lol), but I went for the doll-like Alice look with Disney's standard larger-than-life eyes.
Without further ado . . .
And then I tried to get a few in front of my sequined backdrop to make it more magical, but the lighting is just no bueno. Here they are regardless.
Crazy eyes over here! I'm not a great actress, if you haven't noticed.
You should've seen me in the beginning stages; I had to conceal the outer halves of my eyebrows in order to draw them super exaggerated and surprised and innocent-looking, so I looked like a demon with flesh-colored eyebrows for awhile there.
I also slightly overdrew my lips, and I used a white liner in my water line (though by these last pictures, it had gotten muddied up by the black liner on my top lash line). I was going to try to create a faux bottom lash line to REALLY widen my eyes, but I didn't have short enough falsies for it to look non-terrifying.
Next costume makeup look will probably be another run at the Queen of Hearts (unless I go "entirely bonkers" and change my mind or get a different request—requests welcome, by the way!) because I know I can do better than I did here. :)
Happy fall, y'all!
